What to expect
-
First impression: a burst of wild blueberry and black-tea brightness from the Ethiopian base, sweetened by a touch of vanilla-tinged milk-chocolate smoothness.
-
Mid-cup: the Costa Rican component steps in with browned butter, red-apple juiciness, nutty hazelnut, and a flash of cracked black pepper, adding weight and structure without muting the fruit.
-
Finish: clean, silky, and slightly sweet—think chocolate-dipped dried berries with a warm, bakery vibe. The cup lands firm but never bitter.
Brew notes
-
Filter: 1:16 ratio, 96 °C water—expect high clarity and a berry-forward aroma.
-
Espresso: 1:2 ratio in 30 s; look for dark-chocolate crema and a peppery snap—excellent on its own or in milk.
-
Cold brew: 1:5 ratio, 18 h—delivers a cocoa-blueberry iced punch.
A jolting cup of wake up! But not leaving you bitter. Its smooth overall flavor leaves you caught in moment of a great cup of coffee. But the hint of pepper gives the snap of back to smashing tasks at hand.
War is a very tasty medium roast. I am looking forward to trying it as an espresso.
Aromatic, great flavor, best coffee I have ever tried. Thank you to the fine folks over at Odin’s brew
Be prepared to declare war on all other coffees after trying this one. By far tops any other coffee I’ve had in life but I also haven’t tried every option from Odin’s brew selection either.
