The Story Behind First Light
First Light started as an idea whispered in the quiet hours — something built not just to wake you up, but to honor the moment you choose to rise. The still air before boots hit the trail. The calm before the pull of a bowstring. The silence before the world starts demanding pieces of you.
We wanted a blend that carried the weight and warmth of a slow-burn morning, but with a spark — that subtle ignition that sets your pulse into motion.
So we paired two origins, worlds apart, that somehow feel made for each other:
-
Nicaragua La Bastilla Honey — grown high in the misted Jinotega mountains, honey-processed for rich sweetness and syrupy body.
-
Ethiopia Natural — from the legendary Yirgacheffe region, sun-dried on raised beds, bursting with wild fruit and floral brilliance.
The result is First Light — grounded and steady, yet alive and electric. A coffee that feels like the first blaze of sun over the ridge.
What It Tastes Like
We don’t write tasting notes to impress judges — we write them to tell the truth.
-
Body: Full and syrupy from the Nicaraguan base, giving you that warm, satisfying mouthfeel.
-
Sweetness: Caramelized brown sugar and dark honey upfront.
-
Fruit: Subtle but undeniable — plum, dried berries, and a flicker of tropical fruit from the Ethiopian spark.
-
Finish: Clean, lingering, with a black tea dryness that makes you want another sip.
It’s the kind of cup you notice without having to think about it — smooth enough for every day, intriguing enough to pull you back in.
